Things to do
There’s plenty to “see and do” in this area of France, exploring the medieval towns and villages along the banks of the beautiful rivers Gartempe and Creuse, enjoying a mooch around a local market to pick up the local produce, of honey, cheese and vegetables, and then stopping off at a café bar or restaurant for a lazy lunch.
The historical towns of Chauvigny, Gargilesse-Dampiere, Montmorillon and Angles-sur-l’Anglin are all worth visiting. During the summer months, the wonderful local village “Vide Greniers” begin. Literal translation is “empty attic”) they have a unique atmosphere, and it’s great opportunity to enjoy a local tradition and pick up a bargain!
