Limousin Cottage
Our Home from Home

"Brosse” is our much loved ‘home from home’ in the beautiful region of the Limousin, France. It’s a typical traditional old stone farmers cottage and converted cow barn with pale blue painted shutters and a pretty covered terrace. It has bags of character and charm!

We’re not able to be at Brosse as much as we would like to and hate to see it standing empty and shut up, and believe it should be enjoyed by others. So, we have decided to share it with friends and family, and friends of friends, between the months of June and September.

About your stay

There will be no welcome hamper, just a brief set of do’s and dont’s, and we ask that you “leave it as you find it” and replenish the things that you use, groceries, toiletries and wine!

We would also ask that you make a contribution for your stay + cleaning fee, this will depend on the amount of people staying and for how long...

For an exact weekly rate, please fill out the CONTACT FORM and let me know how many people would be staying . The price is calculated according to occupancy - number of people staying and how many beds are made up.

Getting there

We usually drive. Once you are across the channel, you can easily make it to Brosse in a day. With a couple of stops it’s usually takes us around 7hrs. Or, you might prefer to take the B roads and take a leisurely drive heading south through the Loire and stopping overnight in perhaps Chartres or Saumur. You can also fly, our nearest airport is Limoges, flights in the Summer months depart from most UK airports, and you can then hire a car and it’s a 1hr drive to Brosse.

Our nearest village is Chaillac, (5 mins by car,) which has a pretty square, a boulangerie, bar, restaurant, and small supermarket to pick up essentials. Slightly further away is the medieval town of Saint Benoit du Sault (12mins) and Argenton sur Creuse (30mins) situated overlooking the river Gartempe river, where you will find a wider selection of shops, restaurants, café bars and the weekly markets.

There’s so much to explore in this area of France, from the magnificent medieval towns to the quiet of the Brenne National Park.
